Brother XL-3750 Sewing Machine Review

Posted By: Erin Lynn Rhodes

On its own merit, the Brother XL3750 sewing machine is a great value for anyone who wants a machine for mending and home decor projects, however, add in the bonus quilting accessories that come with the purchase now and the value is that much more tempting. This model is one in a series of Brother machines that are user friendly and are operated with nice-sized levers and dials. It's a simple and attractive set up that is easy to learn.

Brother XL3750 Stitch Patterns
There are 35 built-in stitches and 73 "stitch functions", meaning that some of the built-in stitches can be modified by width, length or direction to expand the total set of possible stitches this machine can perform. The set of stitches cover the most necessary, utility stitches for straight, zigzag, and stretch fabric stitching as well as a useful selection of decorative stitches such as Feather, Arrowhead, Leaf, Tree, and Smocking. There's also a one-step, automatic buttonhole stitch.

Brother XL3750 Presser Feet
Originally, the Brother XL3750 sewing machine came with 4 presser feet - General Purpose, Zipper, Buttonhole, and the Button Sewing foot - but now you can find it advertised for a great price with four additional presser feet: Narrow Hemmer, Blind Stitch, Walking Foot, and a Spring Action Quilting Foot.

The additional presser feet improve the machine's ability to handle quilting and free-motion quilting, especially the Walking Foot.

Brother XL3750 Sewing Machine Features
There are lots of nice features on the Brother XL3750 that are intended to make sewing a breeze. Dial controls for stitch selection, stitch width, and stitch length plus automatic needle threading, are a few.

Other features include an automatic needle threader, a drop-in bobbin system, an extra wide work table, see-through bobbin cover, variable needle positions, adjustable upper thread tension, twin needle sewing, and a reverse sewing button.

The twin needle and auxiliary pin used to attach the second spool of thread are included with the machine along with a number of practical sewing accessories. All accessories can be stored in the extension arm. The Brother XL3750 is a great machine for anyone who want to get into sewing or who sews but wants to try their hand at quilting, too.
