A Child’s Full Apron Childs apron

·Materials:

Sizes here were for my 4 year old daughter, I measured across her collar for the top of the apron, from almost under her arms for the mid part and to her legs for the length. It was a bit too big on her but she can grow into it

  • 2 pieces of fabric cut to a full apron shape. 15" / 40cm width by 20" / 50cm length, I folded the material in half before cutting out arms shape to get symmetry. Apron assemble
  • 3 strips of fabric for the ties 4" / 15cm by 18" / 46cm
  • Pocket material  4" / 12cm by 7" / 18cm

Steps:·

  1. Pin, tack and sew the main piece of fabric and the backing together almost all the way round, then turn right side out.
  2. Sew the neck tie and two waist ties inside out and turn in the right way.
  3. Childs apron pocketIf you want to add a pocket any way you like, for this one I doubled the fabric over (its actually just some left over curtain backing so a bit thin), sewed an edge all round and attached one half to the apron front. Fold the pocket in half and attach 3 sides to form the pocket.
  4. Attach the ties and neck strap to the apron, the neck strap is a bi tlong so you can attach as much to the apron to fit now, then adjust as the little one grows! Well this is my plan.
